Oh My Blog!!!

I was going through a nice presentation by Parag Shah on Blogging. Here’s what he thinks about blogs:
I absolutely love talking about the potential of New Media, specifically blogging, and podcasting. Now it's not that blogging and podcasting are going to change the world, but the underlying concept of participatory media WILL. Blogging is a mechanism to achieve the vision of participation.

For me blogs are a great source of information and has helped me a lot in learning continuously after passing out of Symbiosis. Blogs are a source of keeping in touch with faculty like Parag and is an easy access to his thoughts. This holds true for all the bloggers, blogs are the reflection of your thoughts. Whenever I used t listen to some great speakers, like Guy Kawasaki or read books of great authors like Bruce Eckel, Kathy Sierra I used to wonder what these people think, how do they get inspired, what goes on in their lives and how do they handle that. Now with access to their blogs, I don’t have to wait for their next book or search for their interviews.

My Google Dashboard, all the blogs I frequently visit.
My Google Dashboard, which has all the frequently visited blogs.

Parag says that
it's not that blogging and podcasting are going to change the world,

but blogs and podcasts have changed my world. I am consuming data from blogs and podcasts like never before. As an after effect of blogs and podcasts I am reading more books than I ever did in my life, I am interacting with lot more people, I am learning a lot of things which I thought will be hard after passing out.

I also like blogging for another reason that I get a place where I can write my thoughts, what I am going through in life and share some learning with others. Though I am not that regular a blogger but would like to improve the consistency in coming time. There are some really good thinkers, from Symbi and at workplace as well, who don’t use this media; I have been trying to get them to Blogosphere, the conversion rate is slow but there are few who have started blogging and I am sure a few more will be joining soon.

[News: Planning for BlogCampPune has begun. I am in process of contacting bloggers for their participation. If you want to participate or volunteer please visit the wiki . For latest news on the status of BlogCampPune keep a tab on the wiki and my blog.]

I thought while going through :
1. Parag's Blog
2. daily routine of checking all the blogs on my dashboard

Blogs are really good and as you correctly mentioned that they are good source of insight into the bloggers mind and his life.
I have been reading a few blogs and thinking of starting a blog of my own... but God knows when. I don't think I will get time to keep it updated.
Anyways always like to read your blog and you write about some good and different topics. Keep writing ...
BTW what is a Blogcamp??

I was just thinking.. that social forums like orkut made every one talk to each other over the net more freely.. knowing the other preson through their profiles, It made people interconnect over the web, it gives some insites about the people i would like to know!

Now I was just wondering... if everybody starts blogging...regularly and sincerly. I would know more about his/her thought process before actually knowing him/her.

So If a prospective bride is looking for a groom... then she can just read what he has been thinking over the years and it would be easier for her to take a decision whether he is the 'right' kind of guy or not and vice versa :)
Just another way of looking at things!
Kya khyal hai?

#Hi Reena

Do start a blog of your own and once you will start liking it you will find time for it as well.
Blogcamp is a camp where a lot of bloggers get together to hang out together, have fun, enjoy food, and yes discuss what they are doing in the Blogosphere. It's an extension of barcamp rather a theme Barcamp. Now the question is what is a Barcamp? Barcamp is an unconference (Yes it's 'un'; opposite of conference) of people where there is no audience and everyone is a participant. For more information visit www.barcamp.org.

#Hi Ranjan
Orkut hardly tell anything about a person's thinking and there is very little knowledge exchange. It's a good way to find old lost contacts, I have found many old friends that way, but hardly got to know what they developed into?

Regarding making decision about life depending just on blog is again risky as you correctly said people have to be sincere.

BTW Blogcamp preparation are going good, I will be making a mailing list soon. There are some really interesting people showing interest in the idea.
