Going offline

Staying away from my computer I realized how much time I waste on it. The more time I spend on it, the more it gives me a false feeling of doing something meaningful. It feels more like an addiction and I hate being controlled by urges. I am going offline for a week to start with, in a quest to stay away from my computer. Wish me luck for the same. I had things to say and ideas to share but, I think they can wait.

Good Luck Tarun. Excessive blogging and online social networking can cause addiction and lead to self induced sense of being important. It can turn one into a self obsessed narcissist. And then, there is a danger of drowning in ocean of conversations and recycled opinions (like this one). I think I am gonna blog about it ;)

I too hate being offline. I've been spending time at my girlfriends new house and she doesn't have a internet connection (at the moment). I've been coping with this by using my mobile to stay connected to my email, Twitter, Facebook and the websites I run. Last night I couldn't connect; talk about cold turkey!
