Britain here I come

Landed in London a week back but did not get the time and the internet connection to blog. The journey in Jet flight was comfortable, they make traveling a lot simple by allowing almost 50Kgs on the flight while other flights like British Airways allows less than 30Kgs.

The feeling that I had when the plane was passing over Pakistan was unprecedented, bit uncomfortable yet bit curious (very difficult to express in words). I opened the lid of my window and the sun rays felt warmer in the cold airplane. It is an odd feeling that the rays that were going to touch Pakistan were touching me. It felt even weird when we were flying over the Afghanistan and Kandahar, where once a hijacked plane from India was taken to. Though I tried looking down but we were flying so high that nothing down was visible or may be there is nothing left in the troubled land of Afghanistan.

The trip has just started and a lot of things that I had never thought of before are making presence felt. I am sure this is going to be a great trip with a lot of things to learn, with a lot of interesting people to meet, with a lot of interesting experiences, with a lot of London, lot of Britain, lot of United Kingdom, lot of England...

Pussycat, pussycat, where have you been?
I've been to London to visit the Queen.
Pussycat, pussycat, what did you there?
I frightened a little mouse under her chair.

Have fun there...

This was a nice post. I really liked what you said about looking out over Pakistan and later Afghanistan. Its indeed a feeling a lot of people feel (I know I have!) but you've expressed it quite uniquely. Keep writing. P.S.- The world functions quite sanely without the internet. Use a notepad and a pen.

Felt the same.. though i wasn't uncomfortable.. more like wondering about the similarities and the bickering... and once in London with a Pakistani flatmate, I wonder more!! A lot more...

--> Sam: To reply I think I will have to write another post as it is a very different experience being in London.

--> Lokseh: It pays to work for Capgemini ;) (People may get a wrong idea that I am not a light traveler but to move for an assignment that is going to last more than a month that weight is justified, isn't it?)
