5 Reasons Why you wont love London:

Why you wont love London:

  1. It is damn cold: Since I have arrived here the max temperature I have experienced is 8 degrees Celsius. The temperature has been hovering between 0 - 8 degrees and my friends in London are saying that it will go down in coming days.
  2. It gets dark really early: Imagine this, you peek out of your office window at 4pm and it is dark. Yes dark at just 4 in the evening and it gets difficult to work after noticing that it is already dark. Sit in office till 6pm and you will end up having a feeling that you are working late.
  3. The traffic is very slow: Yes it almost crawls during the peak hours.
  4. Tube is as crowded as Local in Mumbai at peak timings: OK I know there is nothing that can match the crowd of Mumbai Local, but still the Tube does get crowded and it is not a pleasant feeling.
  5. Houses and living spaces here are cramped: Now this is something really odd. Most of the places that I have seen so far have really cramped living room, bedrooms and the most cramped are bathrooms and toilets. I know you don't need a dancing space in the toilet but in comparison to most places in India living spaces are cramped in London. I suppose this has to do with the prices of real estate. I remember when I moved to Mumbai I had a similar feeling and London is just an extension of that experience. One word explanation: Economics!

Business Analysis work is going good also I am enjoying my stay in London a lot. There are so many places to see and so many interesting people to meet. Will try to write more posts. How are you doing? Coming to Europe anytime soon?

I knew about the first 2 but not the last three. I am actually quite surprised about them. I mean I know London is expensive so maybe the last point is logical but still it sounds out when you say 'living spaced are cramped' as compared to 'housing is expensive'

--> Deepali: Traffic is slow during the peak hours it is said that in 1908 the avg speed of traffic in London was 12mph and it is still the same. But the Traffic jams are not as stressful as Mumbai :)
Tube does get crowded but yes nothing can beat mumbai! In local there are no doors so there are a lot of people hanging outside as well that doesn't happen in Tube. But believe me it does get really crowded.
Living Spaces, yes they are cramped. I mean the living area is generally less than the living area in Mumbai for similar class of houses in Mumbai.
